This modified Ford Maverick truck shows how this pickup can look muscular and extreme despite its compact size.

Remember the 1985 Toyota 4x4 pickup truck driven by Marty McFly in the Hollywood flick “Back to the future”? The 2022 Ford Maverick compact unibody truck you see here looks like it seeks some inspiration from rugged and muscular appeal of that Toyota pickup truck. For now, the FX4 is the off-road-spec of the 2022 Maverick, which looks decently tough with all its highlights. However, it is not as heavy-duty and intimidating to look at as this modified Ford Maverick from US-based VIP Auto Accessories.

The popularity of the new Ford Maverick truck has already hit the roof and is aiming for the skies. And with this full-blown, pumped-up off-road-ready custom version, this modified 2022 Maverick pickup with off-road kit looks ready to conquer the less explored terrains, despite its compact dimensions. A host of significant tweaks are there for the exterior and chassis of this lifted Ford Maverick, along with a few add-ons that make it a beast for offroad driving.

A lift kit is the first thing people imagine when they hear about a modified pickup truck. This custom Ford Maverick also gets one, though a modest 2-inch lift kit sourced from Rough Country. While this lift kit enhances its ability to drive more smoothly over unpaved surfaces, it doesn’t make this modified Maverick look extremely heightened, like the overly-heightened pickups we have come across.

The next step was to give this 2022 Ford Maverick a perfect set of wheels and tires to match the abilities of the lift kit and go off-roading without any second thought. VIP Auto Accessories swapped the stock wheels with ten-spoke, 17-inch Alpha Foxtrot wheels. Wrapped with 245/70 R17 Toyo Open Country ATIII off-road tires, these 17-inch alloys fill the wheel wells of the Maverick without being a mismatch for the compact dimensions of the Maverick.

Behind those brass-colored alloys, one can also see black-painted calipers, thus adding a perfect contrast to the shoes of this custom Maverick. Not only the black paint makes the calipers look good, but it also prevents them from the possibility of rusting. All these changes make the already brilliant Ford Maverick an even more potent machine.

Ford releasing a Maverick Raptor on the lines of the mighty F-150 Raptor R and the very-capable Ranger Raptor is a feeble possibility. However, VIP Auto Accessories has made us feel how beastly the Ford Maverick can look if it gets Raptor-inspired design bits. The modified Ford Maverick gets a hood scoop in the middle of the bonnet, which adds a fair amount of bulk to its front profile.

However, the element passing the vibe check here is a custom Raptor-inspired grille with widespread Ford lettering and a hexagonal mesh design finished in a theme of black. Above the grille, there are a few orange-themed LED Raptor lights. The custom Ford Maverick has a commanding appearance despite its compact dimensions, with its all-black paint job complemented by a host of gloss black-themed elements. To match its menacing presence, the Ford emblem on the tailgate receives a black finish in place of the traditional blue-and-chrome logo.

Even the tailgate applique around the custom blacked-out Ford logo gets a satin-black finish, beneath which there is an embossed Maverick tailgate inlay. Lastly, this modified Ford Maverick features 35 percent tint applied over its front windows, which matches the overall blacked-out appeal of the vehicle. The Maverick lettering across the tailgate also gets a black finish to complement its dark look.

Talk of lifestyle pickups and adding outworld adventurous experiences is a hand-in-hand theory. Following this notion, the list of Ford Maverick mods here also includes Keko sports bars on either side of the flatbed at the back. These sports bars can be strapped with heavy items, while they add to the overall aesthetic of this 2022 Maverick as a strong and well-built pickup.

For added functionality and ease of driving, this Ford Maverick mod job also has a pair of KC Hilite LEDs mounted on the chase rack by the roof of its cab. Capable of lighting 0.37 miles of road ahead, these lights also feature backlit amber LEDs when not used wholly. Additional lighting is provided by an RGB LED kit installed beneath the side rails of the bed. Available with multiple color settings, these LEDs can come in handy as party lights during night camping at any outdoor place having low visibility.

For added protection at the back, this Ford Maverick, customized by VIP Auto Accessories, has a spray-in bedliner. If one tends to throw stuff over the bed carelessly, this bedliner prevents the floor from getting hard scrapes. The bedliner also offers added protection to the bed surface against adverse weather conditions and chances of rusting.
